Bodyguard Bad Boys… Sexy, hot and oh so protective!

Burned by an ex with a wandering eye, Austin Rhodes has sworn off women. His sole focus is his young daughter – and despite his good intentions, the little girl’s live-in nanny. He hired Mia Atwood to care for his child but he finds himself lusting after her instead. Keeping his distance isn’t easy but he’s determined to be a gentleman. Until Mia’s past comes back to haunt her and she’s in need of Austin’s brand of protection. Suddenly she’s his in every sense of the word — and he’ll do whatever it takes to shield the woman who tempts him beyond reason.

Tempt Me is the second book in the Bodyguard Bad Boys series. While the first book, Rock Me, was definitely a good introduction into the series, it didn’t exactly wow me. I was actually a little skeptical to continue on with this series, which is not like me at all since Carly Phillips is an auto buy author, but I am so glad I did because Tempt Me was an adorable addition to the series.

One of the things that drew me to this book was the fact that it is a single dad/nanny romance. There is just something about this type of romance that I love, probably because there is a forbidden element involved in regards to whether or not they will cross that line of employer/employee. Of course, we already know the answer to that question lol.

Austin Rhodes has had his sights on his daughter Bailey’s nanny, Mia Atwood, since she started working for them three months ago. The feeling is mutual on Mia’s end as well but she is determined not to become the cliched nanny who sleeps with her boss. But it can be pretty difficult when your boss is a sexy single dad who will do anything for his daughter and who also happens to be a bodyguard. Protective instincts are brought to a whole other level and Mia experiences it firsthand when problems arise and her past comes back to haunt her.

Despite its short length, the pacing in Tempt Me was done very well. When certain events unfolded throughout the book they did not feel like they were happening too soon which can happen when reading books that are on the shorter side. You are really able to see the struggle that both Austin and Mia face as they decide whether or not they should forget their professional relationship and give into the attraction that is between them. It is not easy as there is a child involved in this decision and Mia’s dream to have a family of her own one day does not match up with what Austin wants especially after what happened between him and his ex-wife.

Overall, this was a cute yet steamy romance with a single dad that would make any women swoon as he protects his daughter as well as the women who slowly makes her way into his heart. The twists and turns that happened added an air of suspense to the story that I not only didn’t see coming but very much enjoyed. If you are a fan of single dad/nanny romances, then Tempt Me will not disappoint.
